Cameron: As long as I’ve known him everything works for him. There’s nothing he can’t handle. I can’t handle anything. School, parents, the future. Ferris can do anything. I don’t know what I’m going to do.
Sloane: College.
Cameron: Yeah, but to do what?
Sloane: What are you interested in?
Cameron: Nothing.
Sloane: Me neither.
All Saints Day kites in Guatemala by Johan Ordonez
Residents of Sumpango, Guatemala make these gorgeous, enormous kites to honor the dead for All Saints celebrations this week.
This weekend we are going to celebrate the Day of the Dead in Mexico, November 1st (btw my birthday) and 2nd. I like this time of the year when we remember those who are not around anymore, we share food, music and thoughts. So millions are visiting graveyards and putting altars at home (I’m doing both). This tradition has to do with the syncretism of catholisism and prehispanic religions -Aztec and Maya among others and their relation with the underworld. + + + +

Woot! B-)
Here are shots of Kirsten and I running around NYC with our pals Naowna & Annie in October ‘09. We stayed with them in Bushwick and ate amazing food…some highlights include Roberta’s pizza, Diner on Grand St (their bone-in ribeye killed me, ah so good with a shot of Gosling dark rum), brunch at Moto and arroz con gandules from the restaurant around the corner from the apartment. The taxidermy-wolf-pictures are from Nan’s place of employment, Alexis Bittar. We walked across the Manhattan and Williamsburg bridges, checked out Brooklyn Flea, walked some more, ate, walked, etc. I had a great time and I think I can sense why Brooklyn has pulled so many friends into its orbit over the years. I don’t have a great description of this feeling yet…
