Went for my second actual jog this week…the previous one was the first real jog in 18 years, ouch. 1.1 miles around the Brighton Playfield & Aki Kurose is currently a stretch…bought some running shoes up in Greenwood for it…Lightning Bolt make excellent running-metal.

I loathed jogging for years…but, I seem to be allergic to gyms and to riding my bike with Seattle drivers. We’ll see how this running thing goes…

Lighthouse Roasters still makes a tasty Americano. How can it be, that I lived in this neighborhood (Fremont) ten years ago? Kirsten reminds me: “You’re old.” Heh…

My pal Doug recently produced a commercial for Full Tilt, a new ice cream joint/early ’80s arcade/music venue, with locations in White Center and down the hill from our house in Columbia City. I luuuuurv the Mexican Chocolate, Horchata and Rocky Road Overload flavors…Kirsten digs the Vegan Chocolate and Mango Chili flavors. The Columbia City location features the old wire-frame Star Wars game (the one with the X-Wing trigger-controller), Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Super Pac-Man, Time Pilot, Pole Position and several pinball machines, including a Gilligan’s Island machine, heh.

Autumn's on its way...

I’ve had the same cold for the past week-&-a-half…heard some coughs around the office. Parents are sending kids back to school…kids come home with cold-bugs, parents cough ‘em around the air-conditioned office, etc. Dayquil, Ricola & Emergen-C are constant companions.

I’m not complaining though…this is my favorite time of year. I dig the harvest moons, the deciduous leaf changes against the huge evergreens on our block in Hillman, apples…and the two gallons of blackberries that Kirsten picked from the backyard over the weekend. We froze a couple bags…Kirsten baked a pie with the rest, ha ha.

Autumn means Day of the Dead and Halloween are coming, too. They are my favorite holidays, especially Day of the Dead. Expect more posts about the holiday as November 1st approaches, gentle readers.

Kirsten and I were invited out to Vashon Island for a tour of Kurtwood Farms. The dinner that finished off the evening was incredible, courtesy of the chef Kurt and his assistants. Kirsten took most of these pictures…she has a better eye for detail.
